Thieves who made a hole in the ceiling of a Rockland County jewelry store also made off with $5,000 worth of jewels. The burglary happened at Lee's Jewelry Store at the Samsondale Shopping Center on Route 9W in West Haverstraw. According to police, the thieves opened the ceiling tile of Three Boys Pizzeria on the first attempt. They say this isn?t the first time a burglar has gone through the roof. The same thing happened in December at a jewelry store in Monroe. So far no arrests have been made and investigators are looking into a possible connection between the two burglaries.
