Students at Yonkers Montessori Academy on Woodlawn Avenue had to be evacuated for close to three hours this morning due to a bomb threat.

Police say the call came directly to the school a little after 7 a.m. but that there was no evidence the threat was credible. Yonkers police, including K-9 units, could be seen at the school as they conducted an investigation.

According to the school's website, staff and elementary students were evacuated to the Yonkers Raceway while middle and high school students went to St. Mark's Lutheran school.

By about 9:30 a.m., investigators gave the all-clear. Students, teachers and staff were able to return to the building to continue the school day. "When you hear about bomb threats, it is scary. Everybody gets afraid," said Louis Cerami. "I'm concerned, but I'm happy to see that police presence are here," said Michele Juliano.

This is the fourth threat in Westchester since Wednesday.

On Wednesday afternoon, state police received an anonymous call about a shooting at the Blind Brook High School, which turned out to be nothing, but police continue to investigate.

Earlier in the day, a bomb threat was called into the Yonkers Middle-High School forcing an evacuation.

And on Tuesday, Mount Vernon High School also received a bomb threat forcing an early dismissal.

There is no word yet if the threats are connected, but police say that is something they're looking into as they conduct their investigation.
