State Sen. Shelley Mayer partnered with an international young adult volunteer group called Save the Earth from A to Z We are One to cleanup Downtown Port Chester on Sunday.
They specifically focused on picking up trash near the Port Chester train station.
It's an area that volunteer Brynn Seymour said they wanted to prioritize because dozens of people come to the station every day to get around town.
Seymour added that the international volunteer group is also faith-based, so events like the one they planned on Sunday help them share their mission.
"We just want to share good deeds with people and shine a light in this world," she said. "Also, with like the climate change and global warming and issues that are happening, we want to be a part of the positive change."
