A Yonkers man was sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison for hitting a mother and her child in Yonkers last year while driving drunk.
David Poncurak, 43, will be eligible for parole in 2 1/2 years.
Poncurak pleaded guilty in November to aggravated vehicular assault and other drunk driving charges. Video captured him hitting a mother and her 8-month-old baby daughter with his car before he crashed through a storefront on Lake Avenue in Yonkers.
Video also showed the heroic actions of two Yonkers police officers who helped to lift the car off the mom and child.
The two suffered injuries but survived the ordeal thanks to those quick actions.
The Westchester DA's Office says Poncurak had a blood alcohol content above the legal limit and illegal narcotics in his system.
