The New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association says several correctional officers were treated for injuries after they were attacked by two inmates in separate incidents.
They say six officers from Sullivan County Correctional Facility and one officer from Otisville were the victims.
The first incident happened on April 12 at Otisville Correctional Facility, where an inmate punched an officer in the head and face. The second incident happened on April 17 at Sullivan Correctional when an inmate faked being unresponsive in his cell and then charged and attacked the officers who went in to check on him.
These incidents come after two other attacks at Green Haven and Fishkill last week that left more staff injured.
