One of the largest celebrations of Ukraine in the U.S. is happening this weekend in Yonkers. It will be a weekend full of music, dancing and food at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church.

It's all benefiting a dire cause.

“One hundred percent of our profits are going back to Ukraine to help churches and organizations in Ukraine," says Michael Tomaszewsky, chairman of the Yonkers Ukrainian Heritage Festival.

Tetiana Dadashian knows how badly that help is needed because Ukraine is her homeland.

“Every day they play Russian roulette because every day they see bombs," says Tetiana Dadashian.

She brought her family to New York after Russia's invasion. She also brought a piece of her clothing business called Your Way.

“I wanted to try to push my brand in America and try to show America some of my Ukrainian culture," says Dadashian.

She says representation like this is important, especially now.

That’s what festival organizers say this weekend is all about, celebrating the people and culture of a strong country.

You can find out more details on the festival here.

You also learn more about Dadashian's clothing business through her Facebook page here.
