Sign-ups are officially underway for the Mount Vernon Police Department's Citizens Police Academy.
The free program aims to teach residents about policing and bridge the gap between the police force and the Mount Vernon community.
It will happen every Tuesday night from 6:30-9 p.m. starting Feb. 13 and will go until April 23.
Participants must be at least 18 years old to participate and can sign up via the email on the flyer, which can be found on the city's Facebook page.
There are 25 slots in the academy, so make sure to secure your spot soon.
