Family and friends gathered Wednesday for the wake and funeral service of a Yonkers mother and daughter fatally stabbed inside their home.
The wake for 70-year-old Isabella Triano-Carpio and her daughter 38-year-old Trisha Miller was held at Flower Funeral Home in Yonkers.
The mother and daughter were found two weeks ago brutally stabbed to death inside of their home.
Police have charged 27-yer-old Yonkers resident Luis Ramos with second-degree murder for allegedly killing the two women.
Ramos was arrested in Arizona.
Police believe he may have been trying to flee to Mexico.
Just about a week before he allegedly killed the mother and daughter, Ramos had been arrested on a felony arson charge out of Dutchess County.
He was released on his own recognizance.
The family of the two women are demanding a change to the to the state's bail reform law.
Family member Janet Triano says Ramos should never have been released.
"If that didn't happen, my cousins might have still been alive today,” said Triano.
