Upper Nyack officials on Friday declared a snow emergency for the area this weekend.

The emergency will last from 7 p.m. Saturday until 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Officials are asking residents not to park their vehicles in the public right of way or on a public street, except in the designated parking areas set aside for homes without driveways on the south side of School Street and the west side of Front Street north of Highmount Avenue.

The Village Code Enforcement Official or the Clarkstown Police Department will remove and store any vehicle parked or left standing on any public street or highway within the village.

Residents are advised to remove snow from their sidewalk within 24 hours after the snow ceases.
