The family of a U.S. soldier killed in Afghanistan is asking that people send care packages overseas to the troops in his memory.
Sgt. Edward Bolen, who was from just outside of Syracuse, was killed two months after he married a Blauvelt woman.
Rockland Veteran Services Director Jerry Donnellan says that he is taking a high number of calls from people wanting to help and says he'll help anyone wishing to make a care package to send overseas.
Gov. David Paterson (D-N.Y.) has ordered that all flags fly at half-staff Friday in memory of Bolen.
