Some White Plains bars plan to take break during St. Patrick’s Day parade
Some White Plains bars will stop serving alcohol during the St. Patrick's Day parade on Saturday in an effort to minimize excessive partying.
Bars on Mamaroneck Avenue, between Post Road and Maple Avenue, will have a last call at 7 p.m. where no more alcohol will be served.
Customers will be asked to leave the bars at 8 p.m.
The bars will reopen at 9 p.m.
The measure came about after a meeting between the Department of Public Safety, members of the White Plains Improvement District and bar owners.
News 12 is told it's simply a way to keep everyone safer while giving an opportunity for pubs to restock and recharge before a busy Saturday night.
