'Somebody is breeding and dumping dogs.' More beagles found abandoned in Orange County
Authorities in Orange County are looking for the person responsible for abandoning a dozen beagles after three more dogs were found over the weekend.
Rescuers with the Goshen Humane Society say the three beagles were found Sunday abandoned in the town's Black Dirt Farm region.
It's an area where other beagles have been found before.
"This is probably the 12th beagle that we've caught," says Rick Bossley, of the Goshen Humane Society. "Somebody is breeding and dumping dogs."
There's just farmland where the dogs were found. Houses are few and far in between, and rescuers say whoever is responsible, is leaving the dogs to die.
"They were definitely dumped. We had to go at least a half a mile through the Black Dirt," says Bossley.
Rescuers say the dogs are female and show signs of recently having puppies.
Despite being abandoned and afraid, rescuers say the dogs otherwise seem to be OK.
Authorities are looking to arrest whoever is responsible, and the hope is that the dogs will find a forever home.
Rescuers say donations are needed to help cover the animals' care.
Anyone with information about their owner is asked to call Goshen Town Police.
