A 15-year-old boy has died after being shot Thursday morning near East 171st Street and Third Avenue in the Claremont section of the Bronx, according to police.

Authorities said the shooting happened shortly before 9:30 a.m.

The teen was initially transported by NYPD officers to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was reported in stable condition. Police later said the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators are searching for three people in connection with the shooting. No suspect descriptions were immediately available.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
