A South Nyack man was acquitted in a fatal 2020 shooting.
Wendy Jean was found not guilty in the shooting of 35-year-old Gregory Dubuisson, of Nyack.
Rockland County Court Judge Kevin Russo, who presided over the non-jury trial, handed down his verdict earlier this week.
Jean was accused of shooting the victim multiple times at the corner of Main Street and Franklin Avenue. The 28-year-old was also acquitted of one count of criminal possession of a weapon but convicted of another count.
Jean is scheduled for sentencing in June.
News 12 was unable to reach Jean's attorney for comment.
Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Walsh said his team was disappointed the judge found the defendant's shooting of an unarmed victim was justified as self-defense. They will seek the maximum sentence allowable by law for the weapon conviction.
