The roads should be only a little wet as the Friday morning commute is underway, as winds will be picking up and drying things out.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Winds will gust around 30-40 mph through Friday. With the winds coming out of the northwest, the air will feel chilly, especially earlier in the day. This kind of change in weather will have you grabbing those hats, jackets or coats. The winds may cause some issues to high profile vehicles crossing bridges as well as elevated roadways. The winds back down Friday night and a chill will settle in for early Saturday morning.

Saturday has mostly cloudy skies with a chance for scattered showers in the afternoon hours, along with breezy winds. But thankfully, the temperatures will be warmer than Friday. But don't think we are on an upward warm trend going forward. Temperatures cool down to seasonal levels for Sunday but at least there will be plenty of sunshine.

Enjoy the sun before another system brings more wet weather to the region on Monday. With temps being chilly in the morning, there is a chance the higher elevations see some flakes mixed in with rain drops. The majority of the region has rain coming down into the afternoon hours. The showers are much needed though, as new drought information has the region trending worse than last week, especially for Orange County. Orange County is experiencing a severe level of drought while the majority of the region is under a moderate drought.

FRIDAY: WEATHER TO WATCH - Sun and clouds with gusty winds at times. Feels: upper 20s to low 40s. Highs: upper 40s. Lows: mid-30s.

SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy and breezy at times with a few spotty evening showers. Feels: low 30s to low 40s into midday. Highs: mid-50s. Lows: upper 20s to low 30s.

SUNDAY: Mainly sunny and breezy at times. Feels: mid-20s to mid 40s. Highs: upper 40s. Lows: mid-30s.

MONDAY: WEATHER TO WATCH - A brief wintry mix is possible (mainly in the higher elevations) with rain showers for everyone else in the morning. Into the afternoon hours, expect cloudy skies with a chance for batches of rain. Feels: mid-30s to mid-40s into midday. Highs: upper 40s to low 50s. Lows: mid-30s.

TUESDAY: Partly sunny and breezy at times. Feels: mid-30s to mid 40s into midday. Highs: low 50s. Lows: mid-30s.

WEDNESDAY: Sun and clouds. Feels: mid-30s to mid-40s into midday. Highs: upper 40s to low 50s. Lows: low 30s.
