A member of the Spring Valley Board of Trustees is publicly calling on Mayor Alan Simon to resign.
A recording from a village meeting Thursday morning captured the incident that sparked Trustee Eudson Tyson Francois' outrage. Francois says he sat down next to the mayor, who demanded that he move or leave the meeting.
Francois says he did switch seats, but Simon continued to curse and also called the police.
The trustee, who is also running for mayor, eventually left the meeting because he says he was feeling harassed. He says this is a pattern of inappropriate behavior that cannot continue.
"It's just not common for you to treat another person as though they're not a human being," says Tyson Francois.
Mayor Simon was seen leaving Village Hall with security Thursday evening.
He has not yet responded to News 12's request for a comment on the harassment allegations or the call for his resignation.
