The Spring Valley police officer accused of tipping off local bar owners about impending police raids took the stand Thursday for the second day in a row.
David Lebron, 39, was questioned by his attorney about his whereabouts on days when some contend he was in local bars drinking, having sex with prostitutes and notifying bar owners of raids.
The officer has denied any wrongdoing on his part and provided audiotapes of police dispatch calls, where he can be heard responding to various emergencies that happened on the days in question.
Lebron is currently facing only misdemeanor charges. On Wednesday, the judge threw out all felony charges, which alleged that Lebron filed a false police report.
The officer?s trial came to a halt late in the afternoon after the presiding judge was told a juror may have read a newspaper article about the case. Each member of the jury has been questioned, but everyone denied the allegations.
Lebron will continue his testimony Friday, when he is expected to be questioned by the prosecution.
