With bandages on her arms and legs, the Spring Valley woman mauled by a pit bull last week spoke out Monday about the horrifying day.
Yvonne Oloo was attacked last Thursday when she arrived at a home in Hillcrest with two friends. She says the family dog of one of her friends came out of the house and immediately began mauling her. The dog bit through the 20-year-old's sweatpants, biting both her legs. Ramapo police raced to the home and when they arrived the dog was latched on to Oloo's arm. Police were forced to shoot and kill the dog. Oloo was rushed to the hospital with injuries to her arms and legs. She says she will need plastic surgery.
Oloo's mom says she's hurt because she has not heard from the dog's owner. She says she is not sure if she will pursue a lawsuit. Ramapo police say they are still looking into whether the dog was properly licensed in the town.
