State police say the Town of Chester highway superintendent is accused of shooting a DoorDash delivery driver.
They say the delivery driver came to the house of John Reilly, 48, on Valerie Drive on Saturday asking for directions to make his next delivery in the neighborhood.
Reilly told the delivery driver to get off his property before firing multiple shots at him and striking him in the back, according to police.
The driver was taken to a hospital with “serious physical injuries.”
Reilly was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm. He was arraigned an remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $250,000 cash, $500,000 bond, or $750,000 partially secured bond.
