A state trooper rescued an injured bald eagle in Blooming Grove Tuesday.
State police say a motorist contacted them to report the injured bird on the side of Route 17.
Trooper Bryan Whalen used his jacket and a K-9 trooper’s bite sleeve to corral the eagle and safely put it into a kennel that was provided by the Warwick Valley Animal Rescue.
The eagle was then transported to a rehab facility in New Paltz for further care.
