Community members, like Yonkers resident Ednis Krasniqi, splashed the day away at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers on Monday.
"It's very hot, so I...said, 'Let's come to Tibbetts.' It's close by and it's mad chill," Krasniqi said.
Other people seemed to have the same idea.
Tim Wilson, the park operations manager, said the Westchester County facility welcomed a large crowd on Monday.
"About a couple hundred have come here today," Wilson said.
Wilson added that the place has a capacity of around 1,700 people and is open from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
He said there were no plans yet if they would extend these hours due to the heat this week.
However, guest Cordi Milan, of Mount Vernon, said it wouldn't hurt if they did.
"I didn't get here until like 1[p.m.] and I'm like 'Ahhh..they close at what 5 [or] 6.' So yeah, I think it should be extended to at least 7:30," Milan said.
The potential would give Milan and others more time to enjoy the fun in the sun at their favorite pool.
"Wonderful place to be, very respectful, I love coming here," another resident said.
