Dozens of homes in Dutchess County remained without power Thursday after Tuesday night's storm.
County officials say that during the height of the storm, an estimated 22,000 were without power.
Crews have been working around the clock to try and restore power. Another storm with lightning strikes Wednesday night slowed work down a bit.

The towns of Hyde Park, Pleasant Valley, Dover, Poughkeepsie, and Union Vale where among the hardest hit.
People living on Edwin Road in Poughkeepsie told News 12 they'd been without power because of a downed wire since about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and they're running out of patience. "They promised me 6 p.m. yesterday, they promised me at 10 p.m. last night then they promised me at 6 a.m. this morning. Now the app says pending," said John Libolt, of Poughkeepsie.
Progress has been made as crews work to clear downed trees and power lines. Libolt said while he understands utility crews must tackle the big jobs first, he's closing in on two days in hot humid temperatures without power. "I have a dog that's a diabetic, he needs his insulin we've got to keep it cold."
John says he has several neighbors who are seniors and feels they should be given some sort of priority after a certain amount of time under these conditions. He says he feels Central Hudson has always done a good job, but not this time around. "I've been here a long time, and I don't think this is right. And I don't think we're being treated fairly on this deal based on the number of hours we're out.” He says he went down to Central Hudson's main office and spoke with someone who said they'd try to help make bosses aware of the situation.
