Nestled in the heart of the Hudson Valley, Stony Kill Farm in Wappingers Falls is more than just a scenic spot.

It's a working farm where visitors can interact with animals and hike across five trails spanning 756 acres.

Executive Director Stacey Lynch Adnams says the farm is open to the public every day from sunup to sundown.

"Sheep are the best animals to interact with," she said. "They're very used to being around people."

The farm also features American milking Devon cattle, pigs, turkeys, and heritage chickens.

Visitors can explore gardens, grazing pastures, and the Verplanck tenant farmhouse—one of the oldest buildings owned by New York State.

There's also a pollinator garden, a perennial garden, and picnic areas for a full day of outdoor fun.

"Sony Kill is a Dutch name," Adnams explained. "Kill, meaning a body of water."

Whether you're hiking, picnicking, or petting livestock, it's a hands-on way to enjoy the Hudson Valley.
