Thursday morning’s storm took trees down in Stony Point.

News 12 saw a tree snapped in half, pressing down on wires on Bay View Drive.

The street was closed as crews fixed it.

Tanner McAdams said he woke up from the storm and "thought the roof was going to cave in."

He says the corner of his home on Jenkins Avenue was damaged, and a tree was on his car.

He said he was going to remain positive.

"These things happen," he says. "I’m going to move forward from it."

The Stony Point Fire Department had six calls in three hours related to the weather which they say is much busier than they typically are on a weekday morning.
