WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
A series of storms will swing by the Hudson Valley area this week, with the first one arriving Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. This system will be moving just south of the Hudson Valley region, clipping South Westchester County with snow showers overnight. The little bit of snow that will fall will stick but thankfully won't add up to much beyond a coating to an inch. That may make the roads slippery in places like New Rochelle and Mount Vernon. So, go a little slower for your Wednesday morning commute in those areas.
The second system arrives Wednesday night into Thursday. Unlike the first one, this one will impact the entire region with snow at first, then as temperatures get milder, there will be a change over to a wintry mix and then rain. The bulk of the precipitation will arrive overnight when a lot less people will be on the roadway. But nonetheless, it is a system to not take likely if you are out and about. Slick and snowy roadways will be likely, and as a wintry mix comes in, will turn icy. Totals are expected to be around 1-3 inches. The system is out of the region by or before the Thursday morning rush.
Expect a mix of sun and clouds Friday, with breezy winds at time making it feel colder.
Over the weekend, the third system of the week has its sights set on the region. It will likely arrive Saturday evening and start off as snow to a wintry mix. As the night progresses, temperatures will get a little milder, allowing a change over from snow to a wintry mix to rain. The showers are expected to last through midday Sunday with breezy winds to follow.
Monday has fairer weather returning with breezy winds at times.
