A robust storm system will bring periods of heavy snowfall tonight before changing to a mix overnight into Sunday morning.

SNOWSTORM: Tonight, periods of heavy snowfall will spread across the area, bringing widespread impacts overnight into Sunday morning. Initially, the system will bring snowfall for a few hours until about midnight. There will be warmer air that enters the area which will transition the snowfall into a wintry mix of rain, especially southern Westchester and Rockland counties. Most of the region will still be experiencing snowfall which looks to end by Sunday morning.
Travel will be treacherous and even dangerous overnight into the morning so if you need to travel, be sure to use caution and practice you winter travel safety.
SUNDAY: Expect the roads to initially still be slick so be sure to use caution to begin the day. However, once we get closer to the afternoon, skies will begin to clear, and temperatures will rise above freezing which will improve many conditions especially on the roads.
NEXT WEEK: There is another chance for multiple storm system to impact the region. Tuesday night into Wednesday, we are keeping an eye on a system that could bring more snow with another small system on Thursday and for the weekend. We will continue to keep a close eye on these systems over the next couple of days as details become a lot clearer.
FORECAST:
OVERNIGHT: Periods of heavy snowfall becoming light snow and even changing to a wintry mix for some areas. Lows will be in the upper 20s.
SUNDAY: Any snow or wintry mix ending in the morning. The skies will be clearing, and it will be dry. Highs in the middle to upper 30s. Lows in the low 20s.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny, cold and dry. Highs in the low 30s. Lows in the upper teens.
TUESDAY: Partly sunny and dry during the day with a chance of snow at night. Highs in the low 30. Lows in the low 20s.
WEDNESDAY: A chance of snow in the morning, otherwise mostly cloudy and cold. Highs in the middle to low 30s. Lows in the middle 20.
