News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Julian Seawright says the Hudson Valley will see periods of moderate to heavy rain throughout Saturday.
NEW: A flood watch has been issued from 2 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties. There is an increasing threat for rain totals near or over 2 inches for some areas resulting in flood concerns.
NOW: A small line of showers is moving through some areas, but many areas are cloudy and dry.
NEXT: Overnight rain bands will develop and could produce heavy rain in the morning and Saturday afternoon periodically.
FORECAST:
OVERNIGHT: Cloudy with periods of rain. Some rains can be heavy overnight and into Saturday morning. Lows near 62 degrees.
SATURDAY -- STORM WATCH​: Bring the morning and afternoon plans indoors if possible. Periods of moderate to heavy rain are likely through the morning and into the start of the afternoon. Rain will begin to taper off mid-late afternoon. Scattered ponding cannot be ruled out. Breezy with winds between 10 to 20 mph. Highs near 68 degrees. Clearing during the evening and into the night with lows around 48 degrees.
SUNDAY: A mix of sun and clouds with highs around 59 degrees. Windy with gusts between 15 to 30 mph. Normal average high for late October is in the upper-50s. Lows near 45 degrees.
MONDAY: Sun and clouds and breezy. Highs around 58 degrees. Lows near 47 degrees.
TUESDAY: Sun and clouds with a spotty shower possible. Highs around 63 degrees. Lows near 47 degrees.
WEDNESDAY: Sun and clouds. Highs around 63 degrees. Lows near 48 degrees.
THURSDAY: Partly sunny. Highs around 65 degrees. Lows near 53 degrees.
