News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Krystal Ellis says a storm will bring a mix of rain and snow to the Hudson Valley Friday afternoon, with snow developing north of I-84.
WHAT’S NEXT: A strong storm approaches the area Friday, which will bring wintry conditions to start before turning to a flooding rain late Friday night for most of the area. North of I-84 is the exception with mainly snow.
FORECAST:
FRIDAY: Southwest winds, colder and becoming cloudy with highs near 43. A chance for snow and rain to develop in the late afternoon. North winds 5 to 15 mph, becoming east winds in the afternoon.
FRIDAY NIGHT: Southwest rain, snow and sleet developing. A wintry mix to start for areas south and eventually turning to rain overnight. As of now, 3 to 6 inches is possible north of I-84. Breezy east winds between 10 to 20 mph. Lows near 36.
SATURDAY: Cloudy with some rain or snow showers lingering through the early afternoon eventually drying out and becoming mostly cloudy. Northeast/northwest winds 10 to 20 mph. Highs near 38. Lows near 34.
SUNDAY: Partly sunny with highs near 41. Lows near 27.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny with highs near 48. Lows near 29.
TUESDAY: Cloudy with a chance for a passing rain or snow shower. Highs near 46. Lows near 30.
