Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Sam Augeri says most areas of the Hudson Valley will get 2 to 4 inches of snow.

-A winter weather advisory is in effect for the entire Hudson Valley until 7 p.m. Tuesday.

-Snow showers pick up by Tuesday morning, continuing for much of the day. Expect slippery travel with temperatures below freezing. Most areas will see 2 to 4 inches with some seeing up to 6 inches due to fluff factor.

-Frigid weather follows with wind chills in the single digits by Wednesday morning.

OVERNIGHT: Cloudy with light snow. Lows in the mid 20s with west to northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. 1 to 2 inches of snow possibly by morning.

TUESDAY: Cloudy with light to moderate snow through the morning into the afternoon, tapering off after 3 p.m. An additional 1 to 3 inches expected with slippery travel. A brief mix is possible south. Highs in the low 30s. Northeast to northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Turning breezy and colder with clearing skies. Watch for black ice. Lows in the teens to near 20 degrees with wind chills in the single digits. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and cold with highs in the mid to upper 20s and wind chills in the teens. Lows near 20 degrees.

THURSDAY: Partly sunny with increasing clouds. Highs near 32 degrees. Cloudy and cold at night with lows in the 20s.

FRIDAY: Cloudy with a good chance of snow. Highs in the low 30s. Snow likely at night with lows in the teens.

SATURDAY: Snow ends in the morning. Blustery and cold with sun and clouds. Highs in the mid 20s with lows in the teens.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny and cold with highs near 30. Lows near 20.
