Mount Vernon High School students involved in both the school's cosmetology and barbering programs provided over 30 people with free hair cuts on Wednesday at the Doles Center to practice their trade and gain class credit.

The event welcomed anyone to come to the Doles Center for a haircut provided by the students.

Barbering teacher Rick Boreland and cosmetology teacher Agnus Taylor were also in attendance helping the students when needed.

The event additionally partnered with Westchester Worship Center to provide over 40 sweaters for anyone to take.

The Mount Vernon Guidance Center also provided transportation and multiple pizzas for anyone to snack on.

The students say they were excited to volunteer and help the community, all while gaining invaluable experience.
