Grief counselors were on hand at Port Jervis High School Monday morning as students grieved for a teen who fell through a skylight and died.
Police say Lindsey Billman and an 18-year-old man, Nicholas Moscatiello, crashed through a skylight on top of Port Jervis Elementary School early Saturday morning. The two plunged 33 feet to the gym floor. Billman died, but Moscatiello survived and was airlifted from the scene.
Investigators believe Billman, 15, and three other girls were at a sleepover when they decided to sneak out. According to police, the girls met Moscatiello at the school and made their way up on the roof to hang out. Police say Billman and Moscatiello sat on a 4-foot skylight, which then broke.
Police believe alcohol may have played a part in the tragedy.
Moscatiello is listed in stable condition at Westchester Medical Center. A wake will be held for Billman Tuesday, followed by her funeral Wednesday.
