A new study shows New York schools are among the most segregated in the nation, second to California.
The study by the Civil Rights Project at Harvard University found the highest level of segregation among blacks and Latinos. Authors of the study say segregation in Bronx and city schools seems to be tied to segregation in housing. They say students living in segregated areas are less likely to attend a multiracial school.
Researchers say students should attend multiracial schools to better prepare for the future. Authors of the study suggest desegregation be discussed more among students.
