Police have arrested a Suffern couple for alleged drunken driving and crashing into a car carrying a pregnant women.
Police say Eugene Kurilenko, 46, and his wife Deborah Kurilenko, 43, were drunk and driving their minivan in Pearl River early Saturday morning when they ran a stop sign at Henry Street, struck another car and then kept going down a one-way street in the wrong direction.
Police say the driver of the car that was hit followed the Kurilenkos and quickly pulled in front of them stopping them in their tracks.
When police got there, they were told by witnesses that Eugene Kurilenko had his wife climb into the driver's seat claiming she was the one behind the wheel and caused the accident.
The Kurilenkos were arrested and face various charges including drunken driving.
The driver of the other car along with two passengers, one of whom is 7 months pregnant, were all taken to Nyack Hospital to be checked out.
