Suffern High School received a swatting call this morning, triggering an immediate and coordinated response with the Ramapo Police Department.
Law enforcement evacuated the students and ensured the security of the premises. After a thorough assessment, authorities determined the threat to be a hoax and allowed classes to resume.
In a statement, the district expressed gratitude to all law enforcement agencies involved for their prompt and effective response.
This incident is the most recent in a series of threats that have disrupted the start of the school year in the Hudson Valley. Similar incidents occurred in Peekskill on Tuesday and in Greenburgh and Hyde Park last Friday.
