Local restaurant chain Taco Project pitched in Saturday to support Pace University's Women's Justice Center. All five locations donated to the center $1 for every taco sold in honor of International Women's Day. The Justice Center offers free services and resources to survivors and victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and elder abuse. "We know that so many people can't afford an attorney, and we want to make sure that people who need legal help understand their legal rights, know what their options are and get representation in court," said Cindy Kanusher, the center's executive director. "Getting organizations like the Taco Project to support us, to make sure our services continue and that we're available for everybody, as many people who need us as we can be, it's really lifesaving." The Taco Project locations in Tarrytown, Bronxville, Pleasantville, and Stamford, Connecticut also participated in the daylong donation effort that will help thousands of clients, regardless of their economic status or ability to pay.
