A 17-year-old Newburgh girl and Russian Olympian is back home after competing in the 2010 Winter Olympics, and she says her competitive career has only just begun.
Ksenia Makarova says her first Olympic experience was so exhilarating that "there's no point in stopping. I want to go higher, and I want to be known."
Makarova scored her personal best and placed 10th in the competition as her mother, Larisa Selezleva, a former Olympic figure skater, struggled to look on.
Makarova says she plans on participating in the next winter Olympics, and has already begun training for the World Championships in Italy later this month.
