Tensions are rising between the corrections officers union and a corrections officers group over jail populations in the city. The trouble started when members of Concerned Corrections Officers for Change held a news conference Sunday to address new standards at city correctional facilities. The group says the new proposal will lead to rates of one guard for every 120 inmates. Members of the union say the changes will make their job more dangerous. However, they say Concerned Corrections Officers for Change is overstepping its boundaries by implying it speaks for union members.
