She serves as the people's lawyer for the state of New York, and she's now overseeing the investigation of Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
News 12's Tara Rosenblum sat down for an exclusive interview with New York state Attorney General Letitia James.
This is her first one-on-one interview since the probe of Gov. Cuomo began. The AG has taken on big tech, the NRA and even former President Trump. She shared more about her position of power, her political future -- and her personal life.
James is the first Black female in New York history ever elected to statewide office.
She honed her negotiation skills early when it came to deciding future career.  “My father did not want me to go to law school, and he preferred me to be a housewife.  But I rebelled, and we would have conversations or I should say disagreements where I express my opinion,” says James.
James also reveals the conversation inside a coffeeshop that motivated her to run for AG. And of course, News 12 asks her about the investigation into Gov. Cuomo and the business dealings of President Donald Trump.
