This is the time we get together at home and at eateries to celebrate the holidays with friends and family. But the cost of that luxury may be too much for our budget.
News 12's consumer reporter Janice Lieberman gives us The Real Deal on how many of us are dining out, how many are opting to stay home, and what it means when it comes to restaurant reservations and jobs in New York state.
"With food costs up over 11%, according to the latest USDA findings, eating at home is expensive. Restaurant owners trying to keep up with inflation are also feeling the pinch," says Investopedia's Caleb Silver.
Reservations are down pre-pandemic, and restaurant job openings are also down, according to Silver.
