Those back-to-school haircuts and musical instruments will cost parents more this year.
News 12’s Kristie Reeter breaks down the back-to-school budget and where you can still save some money.
Caleb Silver of Investopedia says “The next two weeks are going to be very busy with back-to-school shopping. And you are going to see price increases on some key items like musical instruments, those are up nearly 10% year-over-year, so if you need a new trombone or guitar for your kid, that is going to cost you more. Stationary, that means notebooks, that means everything else, that's up 9.3%, girls' clothing especially higher this year, up 7.2%. And haircuts, if you are getting that back-to-school cut, that is going to cost you more than 5% as it did a year ago."
