Police were on high alert Friday after several notes threatening bloodshed were found on the campus of Rockland Community College.
Rockland County Sheriff James Kralik says someone left two threatening notes on the Suffern campus. Kralik says one note was discovered Wednesday night, the next on Thursday morning. Another message was spotted on a door of a women?s bathroom, saying there could be a bomb on campus. Police say all the threats suggested something violent would happen on Thursday and there would be victims.
A memo was sent out advising students of the threats. College officials are working with the sheriff's department in the investigation. Sheriff Kralik says he's confident the person responsible for these threats will be found and brought to justice.
Added security by the sheriff's department has been on campus since the Virginia Tech massacre, and officials say patrols will continue.
