It is one of the busiest travel weeks of the year, and the numbers are expected to rival pre-pandemic levels with millions already setting a pandemic air travel record over the weekend.
The Transportation Security Administration thinks Thanksgiving travel numbers will be at 2019 levels.
AAA is also expecting to see the highest single-year increase in travelers since 2005.
A total of 53.4 million travelers are expected to hit the roads, rails and air. That number is up 13% from 2020.
One of the busiest corridors in the country on Wednesday will be the Long Island Expressway, experts say.

Thunderbolt 12 hit the roads Monday. Traffic was heavier throughout the morning, and the rain certainly didn't help move it along any faster.
Experts say to expect a 480% increase in traffic volume on the eastbound LIE, Borden Avenue in Queens to New Hyde Park Road.
Some Long Islanders are choosing to celebrate at home and not deal with the headache of it all, while others are embracing it.

Experts say the worst time to get on the road is Wednesday between noon and 8 p.m. The best time is Thursday before sunrise.
