Thunderbolt 12 is out and about with our very own meteorologist, Julian Sera and Julia. How are things looking out by you over there in Rockland County? Well, the good news is Addison, as of right now, we're not dealing with that heavy rainfall, but as you had mentioned, the periods of on of moderates and heavy rainfall is really the concern leading into this evening, especially as we've been monitoring the radar that heavier band of rainfall is going to continue to push its way into Rockland and Westchester Counties. But as we take a look at what we have on the roadways, minor ponding on the side rows is what we've been dealing with. But on top of that, it's been rather windy as we travel to Rockland County coming in from Westchester County across the Mario Cuomo bridge, we were knocked around and we had to take it very slow. So really the advice as of right now is to make sure that you're taking it slow when you are traveling because we are going to be seeing these winds continue to be very strong from 45 to 55 MPH. And on top of it with the heavy rainfall, be like sheets of rain across your windshield will be lowering the visibility. So just make sure that you're taking it slow and using caution. But if you don't have to go out later into this evening, definitely limit that travel in itself again. As of right now. We're just dealing with some minor ponding. It's still very manageable. We are expecting for some things to start to pick up, especially since we are in an area that could be seeing flooding concerns over the next several hours.

Well, the rain that, that was just talking about is leading to problems on the local roadways across the Hudson Valley. Let's get right to news for Lisa, La Rock in Thunderbolt 12 Forest this afternoon monitoring the conditions ahead of the evening. Commute, Lisa. Right. And you know, we've been in thunderbolt throughout the morning and the morning commute was kind of just a, you know, a wet sloppy, nasty kind of ride and let me show you outside, we're just about to get on to the sawmill River Parkway right now and you can even see as these cars are going by, they're kicking up some water and, you know, we know our parkways do not fare well during this type of weather. So do not be surprised if you really start to see some big problems on your commute home. There's already ponding here on the sawmill as usual. If you're driving around right now, we can see this, the rain kind of starting to pick up a little bit here and there. I mean, throughout the morning it was steady, there was no heavy downpours like we're expecting to see, but it was nonstop. So the ground is wet, the roads are so that's stuff you have to deal with and you can see the ponding starting to build up as we're driving and kind of kicking it off a little bit. So just something you have to be aware of and just, you know, maybe if you could leave a little early to get home tonight to try to avoid, I'm sure there's going to be a lot of traffic. And again, don't be surprised if we have any closures or detail detours, especially when it comes to here on the sawmill and on the hut and on the Bronx River Parkway, all the usual spots that flood. So just something to keep in mind. Of course, we're going to be watching all of that for you throughout the afternoon. But if you're just heading out to drive right now, again, it's just a messy sloppy kind of ride. Nothing you can't handle, but it could be a very different story later on tonight. Stay with us. But right now it's the morning and we wanna show you those street level conditions as we deal with the busy Doppler radar. This morning news twelve's Lisa, La Rocka driving around the thunderbolt 12 along the Sawmill River Parkway right now with the latest on the wet conditions this morning, Lisa now, so just a little bit ago, it started to really come down. Now, it's lightened up again, but it's been like that throughout the morning. Unfortunately, we're hitting a bit of rush hour traffic here as you can see, uh, as we get into, uh to Hastings. But, uh, I'm afraid that as Matt was just saying, you're gonna see a lot more of this on your drive home and this is not too unusual, uh, in this spot for this, this time of morning. But you can see, let's kind of swing around and we can show you, you can see how the roads are just kicking up water over there. And, uh, but it's mostly bonding. We haven't seen any, any hardcore flooding or closures at this point. You know, it's just been a sloppy, messy kind of morning commute. And let's take a look. Behind us as well. And again, you can see how it's wet. But again, the concern is for later today, how your drive home and let me just swing around and show you right here real quick. See, that's what you're getting right now. But as the day goes on, unfortunately, and the rain continues to fall, that's going to grow and it's going to get worse. So that's already, you can see right there as kind of ponding and building. And as we all know, sawmill, Parkway, Bronx River Parkway, this is what you see and the more it rains and the more it comes down, the more likely of flooding and closures that we see. So just something to keep in mind as you're heading out today and then for coming home, if you can maybe leave early or leave later, just kind of keep an eye on the weather. Right now, we wanna show you the street conditions of what you're dealing with as we go throughout this Wednesday morning though. And you can see Doppler radar has all that green all over the Hudson Valley. That's the rain and here's what it looks like. A more visual form with News twelve's Lisa, La Rocka driving around the Hudson Valley showing us those street level conditions and how things look this morning, Lisa. Not awful so far, but you're seeing some scattered puddles for sure. Right. Oh, absolutely. I mean, it's been a steady rain since we've been out before five o'clock this morning. Take a look. We are on the Saw Mill River Parkway right now heading south and let's get those windshield wipers going again. You can see just, you know, it's misty, it's raining. Nothing crazy. I mean, we haven't seen heavy downpours at all really throughout the, but the rain has been steadily coming down and like Matt was just saying, we're going to see those heavy rains and those winds pick up later today. So the morning commute while it's wet and sloppy and nasty out there. You know, my concern is that your drive home. That's when you're going to see maybe some flooding, some closures, you know, depending on just how much we get by that time. So, right now that you're just seeing some ponding that sort of thing, roads can be a little slick, you know, certainly wet, but for the most part, maybe some traffic you hit as well. So, and cold again, like I've been saying this all morning, it's 40 degrees out, but it doesn't feel like it, it feels, it feels colder, that rain has that raw, cold feeling to it. So, just something to think about when you're getting dressed, you're deciding what to wear before you head out the door today. So just take it slow, just be a little extra careful. You can see the roads are wet here, some ponding here and there, but you shouldn't have any major problems and we'll keep you updated throughout the day. We're in thunderbolt. Let's take a look outside thunderbolt and I wanted to, we're going past the tracks. Now, I was hoping to show you guys some of the Hudson River to see what it looked like, but, uh, didn't get there in time or got there too fast. Oh, well. So anyway, we're just driving around the side roads. Take a look here. This is what you're dealing with. Nothing crazy. You know, again, just ponding here and there. We've been on the sawmill, we've been on 287 through Terry town all over. We're seeing the same thing in right now at this particular moment, not coming down too heavy right now and, and just, but it's been a steady rain all throughout the morning. So that's just something to keep in mind. For though your drive in while it'll just be, you know, annoying and sloppy and wet driving home probably will be something a little different as Matt has been saying all morning, we're going to see that rain increase more and more throughout the day. And so just something to be aware of all that rain yesterday. So don't be surprised if we see any flooding, any closures, just something to keep aware of. Also, it's chilly out even though it says 40 degrees. You got that raw kind of feeling that comes with the rain. So just stuff to keep in mind. But if you're just heading out the door just about getting ready to go dress warmly and take it slow, you should be good to go. No closures, no flooding at this point. We're in thunderbolt. So, you know what to expect as you head out and about this morning. So we're driving around in Sleepy Hollow right now, Lisa. What, what are you seeing as you travel through Westchester County this morning so far? You know, it's been a steady rain since we've been out before five o'clock this morning. Just take a look as we're driving, going on to route nine, just kind of following behind and everywhere we've gone and we've been on the sawmill to 87 through White Plains Central Avenue and it's all the same thing, you know, nothing crazy, no flooding just yet. Like you're saying, later on in the day, that's when we're going to see that heavy, steady downpour, it's been steady all morning but nothing, nothing heavy. Just enough to be annoying as you're driving into work. It's, I've been saying it all morning just sloppy, nasty kind of, you know, way to have to make your way in this morning. But, um, and chilly too, you know, even though again, it says 40 degrees on the temperature gauge on, it's been kind of going back and forth between 38 and 40 but it feels so much colder. Just kind of feeling you get when it's raining like this. So just something to keep in mind if you're just getting ready, trying to figure out what to wear before you leave. Just you want something a little warmer because you could get a chill and just passing, passing that old church where the headless horseman chased it crane. So love going through Sleepy Hollow even on a wet day like this. So if you're just getting ready to go, guys, just be aware. You again, a lot of ponding out there, no flooding, no closures, no detours. That unfortunately may be something you'll have to deal with when you're driving home tonight. But right now basically just, you know, be smart. Don't go too fast, wet roads slick, but other than that, you should be good to go. We'll keep driving around, let you know what we're seeing. And news twelve's Lisa Lara is out there in thunderbolt 12 tracking road conditions for wherever you have to be in these early hours. Lisa, everyone just take a look outside, just a miserable kind of day to be driving around outside. So just be prepared as you make your way out. We're just driving through White Plains right now and you can see, I mean, like I've been saying all morning, it's, you know, it's not really, there hasn't been any flooding, but it's, it's certainly not fun to be driving around and there's definitely ponding that. You'll have to worry. Let's get that windshield wiper and going again. You're gonna certainly need that as well. Um So, you know, my concern is later on in the day though, as Matt was saying earlier, you know, we're going to see a lot more rain coming throughout the day. So your drive home might, uh, might be a bit more difficult than your drive into work this morning. So, uh, but for right now and again, it's just, you know, it's that raw cold kind of feeling that comes with rain like this. So, just keep that in mind as you're getting ready to get dressed and head out the door today, that's also an issue. It's just, it feels colder than it actually is. Right now, we want to show you more of those street conditions, the wet road conditions in white plains right now, top of the radar just lit up with the greens and some of those yellows showing the moderate to heavy rain across the Hudson Valley right now. So here's news twelve's Lisa La Roca driving around the thunderbolt 12 this morning showing you how those road conditions are, Lisa. Yeah. Again, you know, it's just not gonna be a fun drive this morning but nothing you can't handle. Take a look outside thunderbolt 12 from our rooftop camera. We're in uh downtown White Plains on the Marine Avenue and you can see, you know, this is, this is basically what you're dealing with as you make your way around. You know, so far we've been on the Saw Mill 287. There's no closures, there's no flooding. Although I worry that, you know, from what Matt is saying later on today at some point, we're just at a red light right now. But um you know, we might see that but at this point it's more just ponding, it's sloppy, it's wet. You just have to take a little extra time just because, you know, the roads can be slick when it's like this. The other thing is, and let's see, what do we got now? 39 degrees it looks like on the temperature gauge here on thunderbolt, it's, uh, it's cold out. Like Matt said, you got that raw feeling that comes with rain. So just, uh, just kind of know that as you're going out and you definitely want the rain jacket and the, and the umbrella and everything else, maybe dressed a little warmly underneath because you get that chill when it goes through you, even though it's, you know, it's hovering around 40 degrees. If you're just leaving, take a look outside thunderbolt. We're on the Saw Mill River Parkway right now and like kind of in the Orley area and no, no flooding, nothing's closed just yet. But don't be surprised me what that hammer was talking about earlier. I wouldn't be surprised if by tonight your drive home might not be very fun. But for right now you're just seeing a lot of pond. We did have rain yesterday. So the roads are kind of just, you know, slick, wet and sloppy again. And like I was saying earlier right now again, it's only, it says 40 degrees on the temperature gauge here on thunderbolt, but it just feels colder, you know, it's got that raw and a feel to it and tomorrow we're getting colder temperatures. So just kind of think of that before you leave the house you definitely want the rain jacket, the umbrella, but dress warmly. You know, you might just get that kind of chill in you, especially when you head out to the car. So something to think about, but as far as any closures or detours, nothing like that just yet again, just sloppy wet, not fun to be out on the roads this morning.
