The Town of Greenburgh Police Department says Jackson Avenue has reopened in both directions after an "accident investigation" forced road closures Thursday afternoon.
Detectives say the closure was along a stretch from Grassy Sprain Road to Young Avenue.
Fort Hill Road was also closed on both directions from Sunrise lane to Jackson Avenue during the investigation.
Witnesses say the accident that happened around 1:30 p.m. appears to have involved a motorcycle.
It was not immediately clear what caused the accident or how many people were involved. Police, however, said the injuries are severe and the people who were hurt were being treated at Westchester Medical Center as of Thursday evening.
The road closure caused significant delays for drivers trying to get around the area during Thursday night's rush hour commute.
