Town of Wallkill police respond to bomb scare at Garnet Health Medical Center

Authorities say the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office contacted them at 5:15 p.m. about a threat that was made to a hospital staff member by phone, and that the caller was identified during the investigation as a patient from the Mid-Hudson Psychiatric Center.

Town of Wallkill police responded to a bomb threat Wednesday night at Garnet Health Medical Center.
Authorities say the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office contacted them at 5:15 p.m. about a threat that was made to a hospital staff member by phone, and that the caller was identified during the investigation as a patient from the Mid-Hudson Psychiatric Center.
Police say the threat was not credible.
A hospital representative tells News 12 the building was secured while police cleared the threat.
Authorities say they used bomb-detection K-9s to search outside of the facility as a precaution.
Police say the caller has not been charged but that the investigation is ongoing.
