It may not even be Halloween, but some children are already in danger of missing out on Christmas gifts.
"Currently we do not have a distribution space," said Steven Topilnycky, coordinator for Toys for Tots Westchester County.
Since 2020, Toys for Tots Westchester County hasn't had a reliable space to store and distribute toys from during the holiday season. Topilnycky said they need a donated warehouse or retail space, ideally in southern or mid-Westchester.
"We need access so we can get tractor-trailers in to unload pallets of toys," said Topilnycky.
He traveled around the county Tuesday to deliver donation boxes to businesses.
"Last year, we serviced over 25,000 children in Westchester County, and I expect that to be same or greater this year," he said.
The ideal location is a warehouse or retail location with an open floor plan.
Topilnycky said he needs to identify a space by Oct. 21.
The donated space would be considered a gift-in-kind donation and is tax-deductible.
