Now though, we want to turn to the Rockland County Highway General Foreman Ed Beatty. Thank you so much for being with us. Talk to us about the conditions that you're dealing with in your community. Uh Good morning, uh, this morning we got out about 130 with about a half hour cruise. It was a little, uh, coming down a little heavy in the beginning. Um Higher elevations still snowing a little bit heavier up in towards uh Lake Welch area down in Orange Town around 12 on Mountain. But same thing, we were a little concerned about Black Ice this morning. Uh, wet leaves on the road with everything. So we were uh very slippery out there. So hopefully everybody goes a little slow. Our crews are out there. Most of the municipalities are out there doing salting and, uh, maintaining all their roadways now. So everything is looking pretty good for the commute. All right. Well, take us back a little bit just a few days ago. We know that crews in Rockland County were gearing up for something like this, testing out the plows, all that kind of thing. Uh Did this kind of come as a surprise to you all the snow that fell in Rockland County. Uh Not yet. No, we do our annual snow school. So everybody was prepped for that. We were prepping for, I think it looks like maybe after Thanksgiving a little bit. Something coming in also. So we're, we're prepped. Our plows are ready to go. Our gear is ready to go. Most of the municipalities are up and running with their snow stuff. Everybody's prepped early enough for this. So usually by November 15th, we're ready to go with all our snow equipment and salter ready to go and paint us a picture of the day ahead and what those DPW crews will be doing and your message to people in the Rockland County area the day ahead for our cruises, our guys will be out on their runs out on all the roads, maintaining, making sure there's salt on the road, make sure the uh temperature doesn't drop for later on tonight. Um So we'll have salt on the road for later on tonight. We'll have crews on tonight for standby in case the snow goes through the night, which it looks like it's probably gonna go until about nine o'clock when I'm seeing. And uh people around should just take it easy this morning. It's wet, especially with the leaves out on the road. Still uh watch out for some bamboo and some trees. It's uh got a little heaviness with the snow. So, uh the bamboo is sticking out a little bit over the edge of the road. So just drive careful today.
