If you haven't left yet to head home from the Labor Day weekend, AAA has some bad news. Traffic is expected to be bad. But that hasn't been the case for all drivers in Westchester County during what's historically a busy time on the roads.
It was an exceptionally rare weekend of travel for David Conroy.
He was visiting New York City from Montreal.
"Everything was great, nothing to complain about even on the way here," says Montreal Resident, David Conroy.
The lack of complaints is also being felt amongst other drivers.
"I don't think there was too many cars on the road," says a driver that was passing through Ardsley Monday morning.
"It's early so it's easier but at night time, we just want to make sure we get back home because everybody has work tomorrow," says Bronx Resident, Edmund Timmons.
That's because these drivers tell News 12, they planned ahead so they could beat the rush home.
Monday afternoon into the night and Tuesday morning are expected to be very busy on the road.
Travel experts say many people chose to drive to their Labor Day destinations this year.
A big part of that is because gas prices are lower than last year, about 30 cents cheaper per gallon, according to AAA.
AAA is urging everyone to be patient.
The worst time to be driving on the road is Monday between 11 a.m. And 8 p.m. Also, Tuesday morning is expected to be bad.
