Traffic stop leads to arrests and seizure of illegal guns in Town of Poughkeepsie

Police say the stop happened Friday when officers pulled over a Chevy Malibu suspected of being involved in criminal activity.

Four people are behind bars after a traffic stop in the Town of Poughkeepsie uncovered illegal guns.

Police say the stop happened Friday when officers pulled over a Chevy Malibu suspected of being involved in criminal activity.

Four people were inside the car, including the driver, 19-year-old J’amori Douglas.

Officers determined Douglas was driving with a suspended license.

Police said three illegal handguns were found inside the vehicle, including one that was reported stolen.

All four were arrested and charged with weapons possession.

Douglas is also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation.

All four were arraigned in Town of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail.
