Trial begins for man accused murdering parent of Marist College student

A Dutchess County jury has begun hearing testimony in the fatal Poughkeepsie hotel shooting from last October.
Randy Johnson, 36, is charged with second-degree murder.
It happened in the lobby of the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
Johnson is accused of the fatal shooting of Paul Kutz of Long Island.
Kutz was visiting his son as part of parents weekend at Marist College.
Johnson is also charged with attempted murder and weapons charges.
He faces life in prison if convicted.
An accomplice, Devin Taylor pleaded guilty earlier and was sentenced to 22 years in prison.
